Saturday Morning

So, I have nothing witty or extremely interesting to post today...just felt like posting. We had a lovely breakfast at "Real" People's Cafe here in town (well, that's what I used to call it when I was little). It was wonderful! My IL's invited us this morning and I had been craving a nice "home-cooked" breakfast without me having to cook it. Today I'm going to my friend Sara's house for some scrapbooking time...should be fun! I'm going to work on a couple of of which I'm hoping to make into a class to teach at the new scrapbook store in town. We'll see if I can pull it off?!?

Grant, B and I had a nice road trip to Chicago last weekend for a Musky Expo. It was so much fun and B was an excellent road tripper! If he wasn't sleeping (which he did the most), he was playing or eating. He did AWESOME...and all those rough and tough Musky fishers were all commenting on how cute and well behaved B was pretty funny! The last pic that I posted was one of B at the Expo wearing his "Daddy's little fishing buddy" bib. Cute, huh!!!

B is super cute right now. He's been just going to town walking around in his walker...chasing Pibb, exploring the kitchen and making us laugh at his sense of exploration. SO CUTE! He's also been chatty and giggly more so than ever...Just makes ya melt. Well, that's about it...see, nothing witty or extremely interesting; just life right now.

Brendan at 7 months

Hanging with Grandma in the ice fishing house on Mille Lacs...what awesome light, huh?!?
A close up of my adorable boy!!!

Hanging out with daddy...look at how big he has gotten!!!

Dueling remotes...LOVE IT!!!

In his Totoro get up that we got him in Tokyo...he finally fits into the hat. YAY!!!
At 7 months old, Brendan:
  • is sitting up on his own for very extended periods of time. It's so awesome...he can play sitting up for a really long time.
  • is rolling over like a champ these days and enjoys going from his belly to his back over and over again.
  • is walking in his walker...he used to just sit there or go backwards, but now he's motoring about...I caught him exploring the kitchen today and find all sorts of things to play with. Baby proofing here we come!
  • probably weighs close to 21-22 pounds
  • is getting taller (or would it be longer since he doesn't really stand up?!?) everyday
  • wears 6-9 month, 9 month and now even 12 month clothing!
  • wears 18-36 months socks (due to the fact that his calves are HUGE)
  • still wears small shoes I think close to a size 1...
  • is making more and more sounds all the time...very chatty still and giggles and laughs like crazy; especially when daddy gives him whisker rubs on his chest on Sunday nights.
  • still enjoys jumping in his horsey jumper and LOVES all his new toys that Christmas brought him.
  • still no teeth...over Christmas he was teething like mad; so fussy, constantly drooling and gnawing on things but they still have yet to show up.
  • Eats lots of things and loves to put the food we are eating into his mouth; his favorite foods include squash, sweet potatoes, reg. potatoes, apple and pear sauce, bananas, green beans. We also tried cauliflower, but HATED it...there was an incident with throwing it up and it coming out of his not fun.
  • has had quite the cold over the last few days, but is finally getting over it.
  • Will take his first road trip to Chicago this weekend to go to the Muskie Expo and the Japanese Mall...another YAY!

Ringing in the New Year!

  • Another month has come and gone and it is now 2009! Whew...2008 really went by fast, did it not?!? Let's see...a recap of the last few weeks. It was a crazy busy, but wonderful time. My sister-in-law Anna and her family (husband Arturo and 2 year old daughter Audriana) arrived in Minnesota from Florida on Christmas Eve and were here until the 30th of December. LOVE these guys so much! Little Miss Audriana is a spit busy, cute and funny. She is definitely a 2 year old; getting into everything, constantly in motion and independent. She kept on calling me "Uncle Korey" which was pretty cute that I finally had to stop correcting her. On Monday the 29th, we headed down to the Roseville area to try on bridesmaid dresses for my other sister-in-law's upcoming June wedding. Anna, who is pregnant with baby #2 due in February!!, watched as I tried on possible dresses and when we finally found the one, tried it on too. It's super cute, tea length in a great Pool Blue color. Has a little Bling, bling, too. I'm so excited for her's going to be so much fun!
  • I'm not sure if I've mentioned it on my blog yet, but our families (my Kruschel side and Grant's Lindberg side) will both grow in numbers this year. Like I wrote above, Grant's sister Anna will have another baby in February AND my sister Casey (Casey and Anna were best friends in high school and growing up) will have baby #2 in June! We are so excited for the both of them and can't wait to meet the new babys.
  • Brendan is now 7 months old and boy how he has grown in those 7 months! I've got to download some more recent pictures to show just how much he has for that post coming later. Over the holidays we thought that he was getting his teeth; he was sooooooooo fussy, constantly shoving things in his mouth to gnaw on and drooling to beat the band. So far, though, they have not shown their pearly little nubs. He also had/has a nice little cold that was accompanied by a fever over the weekend. The fever is gone, but the runny nose is a flowing.
  • I am getting in shape this year. You see...I had the good fortune of developing gestational diabetes when pregnant with Brendan and there is no WAY that I want to go through that again AND I have a greater chance of developing "real" diabetes later in life. Knowing all of this info, I refuse to let that happen, so I must exercise and eat better. I did a great job of exercising when I was pregnant with Brendan, so I know that I can do it! I'm also going to take a cue from the GREAT Cathy Zielske (she's an awesome scrapbooker and Minnesota girl who's blog I follow-linked on right) and post about my journey. The first Monday of each month, I will post my weight (I need to get a scale OR Wii Fit in order to do this), the exercising that I've done and other little bits and pieces regarding my resolve to get in shape. I wouldn't go so far as saying I've made a "New Year's Resolution", but I have resolved to live a healthy-ier fit life.

Well, That's it for now...I will hopefully get my "Brendan at 7 months" post done at some point this week and have some pictures to share.

Here's to a Happy 2009!
