In other news...I am now 17 weeks along in my 2nd pregnancy and I've already been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. YUCK! I was feeling like I had high blood sugar one morning and decided to do a blood sugar test with my home meter. It was high, so I continued to check throughout the day and over the next few days. Only my morning tests were high, but I was concerned and got in to get the first gestational diabetes test that they give pregnant ladies, which is a 1 hour glucose-screening test. I failed that one and had to do the 3 hour glucose tolerance test on last Saturday. I just got word today that I failed that test as well and will definitely have to continue with the diabetes diet that I have been trying to do, but cheating here and there, and getting in some exercise time every day. It really is not that bad of a deal when it all comes down to it. I have not gained any weight this pregnancy, yet, and with the exercise/diet that I will be following over the next 5-6 months, I will actually leave the hospital weighing less than before I was pregnant...something that I have determination to keep that way FOREVER! I am, however, a little sad that I won't get to indulge at Christmas time. :(
I hope everyone is getting into the holiday spirit out there. I know we are here at the Lindberg household :D We're gearing up to take B to Duluth in a couple of weeks to ride the Polar Express Choo Choo and see the Bentleyville Festival of lights.
