Winter is surely here!

It is a beautiful, snowy day here in good 'ole Cambridge, MN and B and I took some time to bundle up and enjoy the new snow. This kid LOVES the snow, but not how it sticks to his mittens (or really wearing his mittens the correct way...he does not like his thumb away from his other fingers I guess.). It takes so long to bundle up, which is a shame when it is chilly out and the kid will not quit eating the snow, rolling in the snow and getting snow all over himself! We came in after about 10-15 minutes of play time and he was ready for a nap. Gotta love it!

In other news...I am now 17 weeks along in my 2nd pregnancy and I've already been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. YUCK! I was feeling like I had high blood sugar one morning and decided to do a blood sugar test with my home meter. It was high, so I continued to check throughout the day and over the next few days. Only my morning tests were high, but I was concerned and got in to get the first gestational diabetes test that they give pregnant ladies, which is a 1 hour glucose-screening test. I failed that one and had to do the 3 hour glucose tolerance test on last Saturday. I just got word today that I failed that test as well and will definitely have to continue with the diabetes diet that I have been trying to do, but cheating here and there, and getting in some exercise time every day. It really is not that bad of a deal when it all comes down to it. I have not gained any weight this pregnancy, yet, and with the exercise/diet that I will be following over the next 5-6 months, I will actually leave the hospital weighing less than before I was pregnant...something that I have determination to keep that way FOREVER! I am, however, a little sad that I won't get to indulge at Christmas time. :(

I hope everyone is getting into the holiday spirit out there. I know we are here at the Lindberg household :D We're gearing up to take B to Duluth in a couple of weeks to ride the Polar Express Choo Choo and see the Bentleyville Festival of lights.
